Wire Annealing

 

When metals are formed or processed, stress can be introduced, decreasing ductility and increasing hardness. This hardness often leaves metals brittle and can cause cracking, breaking or other defects during operations. Bazetta Steel Processing's operators are experienced in annealing, spheroidized annealing and stress-relief annealing.

 

Annealing is the softening process for metal to relieve internal stresses and allow the return of ductility for future processing and operations. Spheroidized annealing transforms the carbon formations into spheroids allowing for extreme deformation in cold head manufacturing. Thermal stress relieving is used to reduce residual stresses for dimensional stability or reduced risk of premature failure in service.
